June 22 Primary Election: Mostly for Officials in Glen
Cove and Brookhaven, but check local Election sites.
Federal As of last month, HR.1 (For the People Act)
and HR.5 (Equality Act) are in the Senate. HR.1 would
harm election integrity, and HR. 5 threatens Conscience
protections for medical providers and would fund
abortions. The similar HR.1440 (Fairness for All Act)
lacks the abortion part. All three have seen no action
since March.
The US Supreme Court will decide the constitutionality
of Mississippi’s ban on most abortions after 15 weeks
gestation. (Dodd v Jackson) Expect a decision in June 2022. Pro-Lifers pray the Court will uphold this, and
other State’s restrictions on Roe v Wade.
NY State Assembly bill A5499/Senate bill S470 is a
direct threat to the effectiveness and even the
existence of the many pregnancy resource centers.
Assisted Suicide bill (S.6471-Savino / A.4321a-Paulin) is
in the NY Senate Health Committee. Please contact your
state senator and assemblyperson and ask them to vote
against both bills.
